The Magic of Musical Colours
In the legacy of compositions by three prominent composers of the 20th Century – Claude Debussy, Benjamin Britten, and Bohuslav Martinů – colourfulness of sound and artistic poetry represented a vital creative impulse. The Sirens, Debussy’s third nocturne, is enriched by subtle nuances of voices of the women‘s choir – sung by the newly founded Brno vocal ensemble, JK Voice, and led by the choirmaster and today’s concert conductor, Jakub Klecker. In Britten’s Serenade on verses by authors from different stylistic periods, the first lady of the Czech horn, Kateřina Javůrková, will perform alongside the prominent tenor, Jaroslav Březina. The concert will conclude with the impressionistic Parables, created at the very end of Bohuslav Martinů’s life.
