The Followers of Bach
It is said that Ludwig van Beethoven wrote his Triple Concerto for the young Rudolf Jan, Cardinal-Habsburg-Lorraine, who was enthroned as Archbishop of Olomouc in 1820. It is the most famous piece of its kind, performed by the exceptional Czech chamber ensemble Trio Incendio, which has been earning success on the grandest European stages. Following on from previous concert seasons, the final concert of the Chief-Conductor Series will feature the third symphony by Johannes Brahms and also Ferruccio Busoni’s Comedy Overture, works by composers strongly influenced by compositional thinking of the musical genius of the Baroque era, Johann Sebastian Bach.
