From Beethoven to the Present
Dobrinka Tabakova is an acclaimed contemporary Bulgarian composer who pays tribute to French Baroque composer Jean-Philippe Rameau with her Suite in Old Style for solo viola and string orchestra, subtitled „Amareu, the Court Jester“, depicting the daily life in an aristocratic household of the 18th Century. The work was premiered in 2007 by Maxim Rysanov, a soloist of the Olomouc concert who is originally from Ukraine and is currently performing in the United Kingdom. This musical adventure will be followed by the most positive of all Prokofiev’s symphonies, described by its author as „a hymn to free and happy man, to his mighty powers and pure and noble spirit“. After several years, we will also welcome back the Norwegian conductor of Czech origin, Stefan Veselka.
