Final concert of the MusicOlomouc festival 2022
Blow Your House Down
Let us not close ourselves from the world and pain, let us not be immune to everything and let us not build high walls around ourselves. This is how the motto of the concert Blow your house down could be described. The same title and idea is given to the piano concerto by Tatjana Kozlove-Johannes, in which Age Juurikas will be the soloist. Lotta Wennäkoski’s slightly twisted and sometimes „lacey“ composition works with a duality of agility and lyricism. One of Germany’s best-known contemporary composers, Enno Poppe, reopens the age-old struggle between mind and soul (control and frenzy). But their place is the same – the brain. Where should the soul be if not in the brain? Carola Buackholt's piece, influenced by the author's fascination with the perception and understanding of music, concludes the series of deeper reflections on our inner world.
The programme will offer the latest orchestral works by foreign composers in Czech premieres under the direction of the Estonian-Iranian conductor and composer Arash Yazdani. Don’t be afraid to hear the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc play differently.
