Celebrating with Czech Music
We will celebrate the national holiday with a purely Czech programme and a stellar cast of exceptional young artists of international renown. Romanian cellist Andrei Ioniță is the winner of the prestigious International Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky Competition and regularly performs with top orchestras and conductors across the meridians. In Olomouc and other regional cities, he will play the well-known Dvořák’s concerto with the Moravian Philharmonic. Jiří Rožeň, the most promising Czech conductor, will be at the conductor’s podium. He will also perform Martinů’s festive overture from his mature American period and, at the end of the evening, „speaks“ to the audience the most intimate musical opus of this year’s celebrant Bedřich Smetana – the orchestral arrangement of his String Quartet „From My Life“.
